Noble Wilde garments are heirlooms, as beautiful and timeless as they are desirable. The subtle Noble Wilde colour palette is inspired by the natural beauty of the New Zealand landscape, the hues of sea, sky and stone. Over everything falls our golden southern light, the sun of our long summer evenings. Noble Wilde garments are not for everyone. They are for those people who, like you, appreciate the best our world has to offer.
Noble Wilde garments are made from 53% Merino, 40% Possum and 7% silk
Merino - Warm, Durable and Fast Drying Merino Wool has unique characteristics. Each fibre is exceptionally fine, long and densely crimped, retaining heat close to the skin and keeping out cold air. The fibre also wicks moisture away from the skin, allowing the skin to stay warm and dry. Spun Merino retains all of these qualities and is one of the most durable natural yarns.
Possum Fur - an Exceptional Natural Insulator
The fibres of possum fur are hollow, trapping warm air against the skin. The only other animal with this astonishing insulating fur is the Polar Bear. The trapped air not only retains heat efficiently, but makes the fur light in weight. Spinning possum fibre into yarn reduces the weight of a garment, while simultaneously increasing its warmth.
Garment care
Possum Merino is unequalled for comfort because the blend reduces the weight of the article whilst increasing the insulation and thus warmth. The possum fibre stabilises the merino against shrinkage and all products can be safely machine washed on a cool / cold cycle with a slow spin. All items should be dried flat. When not in use garments should be folded in a drawer rather than hung on a hanger.
